FERRI LIGHTING DESIGN & ASSOCIATES SCORES
FOR NFL NETWORK’S PRO BOWL DRAFT LIGHTING

Location Work in Hawaii Under Challenging Weather

FOR RELEASE ON: FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2014

NEW YORK – Ferri Lighting Design & Associates (FLDA) today announced that it provided the outdoor lighting for the NFL Network’s 2014 Pro Bowl Draft coverage in Honolulu, Hawaii. FLDA lit outdoor sets in four different locations at the Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute. This marks the first Pro Bowl Draft that FLDA has lit; FLDA has worked with the NFL Network for several years.

Ferri and FLDA lighting designer Mick Smith managed the lighting design and installation over a four-day period. Smith has supervised lighting design assignments for FLDA with the NFL Network in the past, including ‘NFL Playbook;’ ‘NFL AM,’ and projects with NFL Films.

“Outdoor lighting requires precise management of natural lighting variables, and with an event that moves from mid-day into evening, this requires a great deal of upfront planning,” said Bruce Ferri, senior lighting designer with FLDA. “We successfully managed the shifting sun, and did with available lighting gear on the island. Coping with high winds on the day of the Draft added to the challenge.”
